Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is the main regulatory body for evaluation and certification of foods, drugs, biologicals and medical equipment in US. FDA has established a quality system (QSR) for the manufacturers to ensure the products consistently meet applicable requirements and specifications, and oversees compliance through trusted certification bodies, including QS (Switzerland), which will in turn audit and monitor compliance with FDA QSR.

The Medical Equipment Department of Iran, is the official regulatory body of Ministry of Health and Medical Education for evaluation and certification of all activities regarding medical equipment in Iran. This department is responsible for ensuring compliance with domestic and international standards and guidelines.
